Privacy Policy
How TSR Tip Snap handles your camera, your preferences, and the ads that keep it free.
Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how TSR Apps LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with the TSR Tip Snap mobile application (the “App”). By using the App, you agree to the practices described below.
Information We Collect
Camera and photo library. The App uses your device’s camera or photo library, with your permission, to scan a photo of a receipt and read the subtotal, tax, and total. This processing happens entirely on your device using on-device text recognition. Receipt photos are never uploaded to us or to any server — they are used only to fill in the amount fields in the App and are not retained by us in any form.
App preferences. The App stores your tip percentage preferences and other settings locally on your device. This information is never transmitted off your device and is removed automatically if you uninstall the App.
Advertising data. The App displays ads served through Google AdMob. To serve ads, AdMob and its partners may collect device identifiers, advertising identifiers, approximate location, and other technical information as described in Google’s own privacy policy. By default, the App requests non-personalized ads. This data collection is performed by Google, not by us directly, and is governed by Google’s privacy practices:
Purchases. The App offers an optional one-time “Remove Ads” purchase. Purchases are processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play, as applicable. We do not collect, see, or store your payment card details, billing address, or other payment information — that data is handled solely by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies.
How We Use Information
We use the limited information described above solely to operate the App’s core features: calculating tips, reading receipt amounts, displaying ads, and processing optional purchases. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use receipt photos or app preferences for any purpose beyond making the App work on your device.
Third-Party Services
The App relies on the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy and terms:
- Google AdMob — ad serving
- Apple App Store / Google Play — purchase processing
We do not control how these third parties handle data and encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.
Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the information below so we can address it.
Your Choices
- You can deny or revoke camera and photo library permissions at any time in your device’s system settings; the App will prompt you to enter amounts manually instead.
- You can limit ad personalization through your device’s advertising settings (for example, “Opt out of Ads Personalization” on Android, or “Limit Ad Tracking” / App Tracking Transparency on iOS).
- You can purchase “Remove Ads” within the App to stop ads from being shown entirely.
- You can uninstall the App at any time, which removes all locally stored preferences from your device.
Data Security
Because the App does not transmit receipt photos or personal information to our own servers, there is no server-side database of your data for us to secure. Data handled by third-party services (AdMob, Apple, Google) is secured according to their respective practices.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App or in applicable law. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date above. Your continued use of the App after a change is posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
